Mantra

Do you have a mantra? A phrase, which might have no inherent meaning, that you repeat to yourself, say to steady yourself or to get a little better focus?
One I use is "Somebody sure cut thro that fence, aright". There is a story behind that one, for all you Stan Freeburg fans.
In a recent blog post Rys evoked another mantra, which is a little unusual. The protagonist in the William Gibson novel "Pattern Recognition", Cayce, has allergies to logos. As in the Michelin Man. She uses the mantra "He took a duck in the face at 250 knots" to calm herself in tense situations.
To read this entry, one might conclude that such an allergy is not entirely uncommon.
Me, being a simple country boy, will stick with cats.
